World Power Company (IEA) has invited India, the arena’s third-largest power client, to develop into its full-time member – an offer if authorised would require New Delhi to lift strategic oil reserves to 90 days requirement.
Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday mentioned he held on-line discussions with IEA Govt Director Fatih Birol.
“As a herbal corollary to the India-IEA strategic partnership, Dr. Birol invited India to deepen its cooperation with IEA through turning into a complete Member,” Mr. Puri tweeted with out announcing if the full-time club proposal used to be applicable to the federal government or no longer.
India, in March 2017, changed into an affiliate member of the Paris-based frame which advises industrialised countries on power insurance policies.
On its web page, IEA states that “India is turning into an increasing number of influential in world power traits.”
