He said that once Russia has loaded the fuel into the reactor — slated for Saturday – Israel would no longer be willing to strike for fear of triggering widespread radiation in an attack. “This is a very, very big victory for Iran,” Bolton told The Jerusalem Post. “This is a huge threshold.”

Bolton, who also once oversaw US non-proliferation policy, said that when Russia announced the plans to load the fuel last Friday, “the element of surprise was essentially taken away” from Israeli calculations.

Bolton noted that he doesn’t “have a clue” as to whether Israel would actually attack, but he said, “If Israel was right to destroy the Osiraq reactor, is it right to allow this one to continue? You can’t have it both ways.”

Israel took out Iraq’s Osiraq reactor during a stealth mission in 1981. It is also believed to have conducted a similar strike on an alleged Syria nuclear site in 2007.

Russia signed a contract with Iran to construct the Bushehr reactor in 1995, but has several times delayed completion. In announcing the long-overdue fuel installation, which should make Bushehr operational in September, Russia did not indicate why it was going ahead with the final stages now.

As a right of center pundit I come across a series of ludicrous headlines, memes and stories every single day. How can I not? As Zip quoths via NRO’s Jay Nordlinger, I get the distinct feeling daily that our nation is led by a bunch of left wing undergraduate crazies.

Today’s exhibit a). for such is this from NRO’s Jay Nordlinger:

We, the United States, have been having human-rights talks with China. Our side is apparently led by Michael Posner, an assistant secretary of state. I will quote from an Associated Press report:

Posner said in addition to talks on freedom of religion and expression, labor rights and rule of law, officials also discussed Chinese complaints about problems with U.S. human rights, which have included crime, poverty, homelessness and racial discrimination.

He said U.S. officials did not whitewash the American record and in fact raised on its [their?] own a new immigration law in Arizona that requires police to ask about a person’s immigration status if there is suspicion the person is in the country illegally.

I hope I have read that incorrectly, or am interpreting it incorrectly. Did we, the United States, talking to a government that maintains a gulag, that denies people their basic rights, that in all probability harvests organs, apologize for the new immigration law in Arizona? Really, really? . . . READ MORE

Michelle Malkin asks, “Who is Michael Posner and why is he apologizing to China?”

Answer: Michael Posner is the former head agitator at the transnationalist Human Rights First, who represents the textbook State Department mindset of pandering to the worst America-bashers without hesitation or shame. Foggy Bottom isn’t just stuck on stupid. It’s stuck on American self-sabotage.

Longtime readers of this blog will recall that Posner had a significant role in the attempted George Soros-ization of Ground Zero in 2005.

Do the idiots in our government even believe the garbage they purport to? Or do they not even read legislation as per Attorney General Eric Holder? Does Michael Posner really think that Arizona’s HB 1070 is a human rights violation? And no-less to say so to a country that envisions ‘human rights’ as this:

And most famously as this:

Simply lovely. Another wide-eyed leftist zealout in the administration making a fool out of the United States.
While it is important that our Nation once again secures solid leadership, let us not forget that Britain is one of our biggest allies, and their success is something we should root for. (Well, in my opinion, that is!) Can you imagine if both of our Nations had Conservative leadership? Hmm. Like Reagan and Thatcher, yes? Those were the days, indeed!

Congratulations, Mr. Prime Minister. You have a lot of healing to bring to your Nation. Best of luck, sir, and God Bless!

LONDON – David Cameron, the youthful leader who modernized the party of right-wing icon Margaret Thatcher, became prime minister Thursday after the resignation of Gordon Brown — capping a gripping election saga that returns the Tories to government after 13 years of Labour Party rule.

According to tradition, Queen Elizabeth II appointed Cameron at Buckingham Palace — the stately denouement to a behind-the-scenes dogfight between Cameron and Brown for the cooperation of Britain’s third-place party, after an election that left no party with a majority. Within minutes, Cameron was installed at No. 10 Downing Street and an announcement followed that Liberal Democrat leader, Nick Clegg, would become deputy prime minister after days of hard bargaining with his former political rivals.

The 43-year-old Cameron becomes Britain’s youngest prime minister in almost 200 years — the last was Lord Liverpool at 42 — and cemented a coalition deal with the third-place Liberal Democrats. Clegg and four other Liberal Democrats received Cabinet posts. A number of other Liberal Democrats would receive junior posts.

NOTE: This is strictly an opinion piece written by Donald Borsch Jr, and in no way reflects the opinions or beliefs of Political Integrity Now as a whole, nor its contributors, nor its owners. Thank you, Long Live the Republic, and God Bless us all!

One of the biggest obstacles I face as a Covenant Christian is whether or not I really believe all of my tirades and arguments and debating that revolves around American Politics is really relevant in The Big Picture. I mean, I know what the future ultimately holds for not only America, but for all mankind. It is an inescapable, unstoppable, and inevitable conclusion to the drama that is humanity. Plainly said, it is the ending to the Plan that God has for His Creation. Neither you nor I can change it, alter it, halt it, or thwart it. We can pray for its hastening, to be sure, but we are powerless to slow it down.

Like millions of others, I look upon the current Administration, the current Congress, and I see things being implemented that are designed to bring America to its knees and then truly “fundamentally transformed” into something she should never be. This, as an American, bothers me greatly.

However, as a Covenant Christian, and a member of The Invisible Church, I also know that God’s Will shall be done, period. What good does it really do for me to protest, write, lament, deride, and cry out against the steady onslaught of Socialism and Humanism that is so prevalent in America today? It seems to me that these things need to happen. It seems to me that it is all part of God’s Plan for humanity, for America, and I need to just remove myself from trying to be a part of stopping it, as odd as that may sound. Even if Brack Obama and his evil Democrat-controlled Congress, (and yes, they are evil), all get voted out, there will simply be others to replace them. It may sound defeatist, but there is a peaceful truth to it all if you will quiet down on the inside and allow it to speak to you.

On the one hand I am not saying to be as doormats and abdicate our God-given sense of Freedom and Liberty to take a back seat. Yet on the other hand I am wondering if all of our work is relevant and needed. I have yet to meet anyone who can change the mind of God or change His plans for America, including myself and all my desire and passion that is mounted against President Obama and the progressives as a whole. I have realized that at the end of the day, when I close down the Internet and seek sleep, that Jesus is still Lord and that His Father is very much in control, and America is still in His hand. I have not added to this with my words or endeavors. And therein lies the crux of this article.

I believe, fully and completely, that this is so far beyond the simplistic, “Us vs. Them”. It is so far beyond the whole, “Conservatives vs. Liberals”. It is so far beyond the cliched, “Democrats vs. Republicans”. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a spiritual war. This is, indeed, Spiritual Warfare.

True enough, a lot of us do battle with ideals. We see what the progressives are up to, we write about it, we expose it, and we fellowship in the truth that is our cause. They say something, and we respond. We say things, and they respond. And so it goes. We have folks who take to the Internet the moment they awake, and scour it for ammo to use against them. They in turn have the same kind of thing going on. We clash ideologically, we fight verbally, we post articles against one another, and we feel as though we have made headway. But the answer to our problems as a Nation will not be found in political victories. The answers to our problems in our government will not be found in clever rhetoric or quoting the Founders as an offensive weapon against our ideological enemies. No. It is much deeper than that.

One of the biggest tactics that the enemy, meaning Satan and his fallen angels, will employ are those of emotion and manipulation. The targets are the hearts and minds of men and women. Once the enemy can capture either of these, it is all just a matter of keeping it enslaved and in bondage. Liberalism, as we know it today, is an ideal that comes with chains and slavery. It plays upon the basest of human emotion, trumpeting itself as being “for the common good” and “making sure everyone gets treated equally”. It has no regard for the unborn, as it has part of its roots in the deaths of babies, and seeks to victimize those in society who are susceptible to being mislead in some form of false oppression and prejudices. In other words, it seeks out and infiltrates the hearts and minds of anyone who feels slighted, put-down, and discriminated against, which are all emotional ropes that it also brings. Not only does liberalism seduce folks with such drivel, it also brings the chains and ropes to bind these people with, once it has taken root in their hearts and minds. Liberalism is a cruel taskmaster. It is akin to a spiritual drug-dealer of the lowest class. And once it pitches a tent in the hearts and minds of its followers, it is difficult indeed to break away from and evict.

Conservatism, on the other hand, preaches freedom, equality, accountability, and liberty. It has no time for lies, accusations, or innuendos. It does not seek to control, but seeks instead to liberate and empower. Conservatism finds its roots in the fact that America was founded by Divine Inspiration. We, as America, are unlike any other Nation on the planet. In our short history, we have become the greatest and most powerful Nation, eclipsing all others with our exceptionalism, our spirit, and our determination. Have we made mistakes? Sure. Of course we have. To say otherwise would be ignorant and foolish. I cannot, however, speak fully to our past mistakes as they are indeed past mistakes. I find myself living in today, in this moment, in this snippet of time. And here is where I am even now, looking forward and dealing with what is in front of me as deftly as I am able.

Conservatism is truly the antithesis not only of Liberalism, but of evil. Liberalism is evil. Period. It comes with chains and enslaves with extreme prejudice, poisoning the hearts and minds of its followers with death, victim-mentalities of all sorts, and emotional manipulations.

I am a Conservative. I am an Independent Conservative. This is my “political label”. But first and foremost, I am a Covenant Christian, saved by grace, empowered by the same Holy Spirit that was there when God the Father said, “Let there be light!”, and the same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead. I see the world through His eyes. I can look past the venom, the vitriol, and the lies, and see the spirit behind them all. Liberalism represents a defeated enemy. Period.

Now, I would be most arrogant to say that ALL Conservatives are Christians and ALL Liberals are not. That is just not true. Conservatism and Christianity are not an exclusive pairing. But you would be hard-pressed to find a Conservative who is not a follower of Jesus. For the record, allow me to say I know of several Conservatives who are atheists.

Yet, is it not interesting that there is a sense of morality within Conservatism that simply smacks of Godly Principles? Have I met Conservatives who talked a good game but had moral indiscretions? You bet. But when faced with conflict, when faced with confrontation, their Conservatism shines like a beacon, and they make their points with swift power and undeniable truth. Amazing.

For those of us in The Kingdom, we need to realize that the enemy is involved deeply and historically with Liberalism. We rage against political ideals and policies, but in reality we need to rage against the enemy and his hold on those we are debating. True Freedom will not come through a ballot. True Freedom, the kind that carries over into eternity, comes from Jesus. Satan knows this, and seeks to get us side-tracked and involved in meaningless debates and arguments with people who we will never meet again, this side of Heaven. In other words, he enjoys shining us on and poking at our Conservatism, knowing we will not take it to the next level and brandish the Sword of The Spirit against him. It is well past the time when we should be doing this.

This is not a political battle. You will not remove liberalism with clever words or wise rhetoric or even in using fact. No. Liberalism has a Master. Take the battle to him and his minions. He is just an other fallen angel, and is subject to the Rules of The Kingdom. He might have a few victories here and there, and parade about like a proud peacock, proclaiming his awesomeness and his strength. (Have you ever seen a liberal rally when they are protesting? That’s what I mean.) The real battlefield is in the halls of Congress. It is in DC. It is on the streets, when you speak to a liberal puppet and you see the chains of slavery binding them to their Master’s will. They refuse to listen. They refuse to answer the really tough questions. What should we do? Pray. Pray right there, in your spirit, for those chains to be broken, and be ready to come in with the Spirit to plant a seed of hope, love, and salvation.

It has been said that if you change a person’s heart, you totally change the person. I believe this. I am not fighting against a person. I am fighting against a fallen angel who lies and manipulates people. Just like he does, I am targeting their very hearts and minds and spirits. When I speak about Conservatism, there is the power of the Holy Spirit being employed, and I am also engaging the enemy in the spiritual world, far from the eyes of men. This is not about me making a point that will change their minds. This is all about me, all about US, making the Truth known to these people in the spiritual world. Once the seed is planted, it falls into the Hand of God to see it through. Spiritual warfare, folks. Plain and simple.

See past the temporal. See past the cliched labels. See past the cliched rhetoric. Government will not save us. The GOP will not save us. Conservatism will not save us. Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the only One capable of saving us, and if that means I have to engage someone in “political debate” as a means to that end, then so be it. But I have no illusions about Conservatism as a whole. It is a Godly mindset, but it is not God.

Jesus is.

I hope this changes your mindset towards what it is we are really fighting for. I hope there was a small kernel of wisdom and power here that you can grab and use to grow with.

Jesus is Lord. He was here when America was founded, and He will be here when it is time to close the book. Let’s see about showing these liberals True Freedom and Liberty in Salvation. Let’s start there.

Lady Libertas is a Cold War Kid and all these warm and fuzzies being proliferated by the Obama Administration make Lady Libertas long for the good ole days of the Cold War. At least then the lines were very clearcut and we had Presidents that understood that Russia and Communists were no friend to the United States and never would be.

Obama was in Prague signing a new treaty with Medvedev which would reduce the respective nuclear arsenals to the lowest levels since the 1960’s. Obama stood grinning with the Russian President as he once again threw the United States under the bus.

As unstable nations such as Iran and North Korea teeter on the brink of nuclear capability, Obama has seen fit to reinforce how weak he will make the United States under his regime.

Iran has yet to build a nuclear weapon. My administration will seek engagement with Iran based on mutual interests and mutual respect. We believe in dialogue.

Lady Libertas thought that he believed in consequences but apparently, the rhetoric and threats of Iran mean nothing to Obama, the Messiah. Lady Libertas wishes that Obama would believe in that same mutual interest and respect for our at-one-time ally Israel.

Obama is entering a fourth round of sanctions with the United Nations against Iran. Let’s just call it stall tactics that seem engineered to give Iran plenty of time to achieve their nuclear capability. And Tehran’s response? They have gone so far off the reservation that they interpret Obama’s warm fuzzies as threats and are planning to report the US to the UN. In this upside down world, chances are the United States will end up with some kind of twisted sanctions versus Iran.

Netanyahu declined to come to the Nuclear Summit (cough snort) and, further encouraged by the US alienation of Israel, Iran keeps up the rhetoric against Israel:

Iran also warned on Tuesday that an Israeli attack on Iran nuclear facilities would backfire onto Israel. Mojtaba Zolnour, representative of Iran’s spiritual leader Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in the Revolutionary Guard, threatened, “The enemies know if they fire a missile toward Iran, Iranian missiles will be flying towards Tel Aviv even before the dust has settled.”

He also added that it is hard for the world to accept Iran’s progress, which has made Iran a superpower in the field of ballistics. (from ynet news)

All of this nonsense makes Lady Libertas long for the good ole days of the Cold War.

The bad guys were easily defined and Ronald Reagan put it perfectly:

“We win, they lose.”

Obama just wants to be BFF’s.

From Fox News:

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran approved plans Sunday to build 10 new uranium enrichment facilities, a dramatic expansion in defiance of the U.N. nuclear watchdog, days after it demanded Tehran stop construction on one plant and halt all enrichment activities.

Iran’s defiance will likely heighten tensions with the West, which has signaled it is running out of patience with Iran’s continuing enrichment and its balking at a U.N. deal aimed at ensuring Tehran cannot build a nuclear weapon in the near-term future. The U.S. and its allies have hinted at new U.N. sanctions if Iran does not respond.

The White House said the move “would be yet another serious violation of Iran’s clear obligations under multiple U.N.
“Time is running out for Iran to address the international community’s growing concerns about its nuclear program,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said.

On Friday, the U.N.’s International Atomic Energy Agency issued a strong rebuke of Iran over enrichment, infuriating Tehran. Parliament speaker Ali Larijani threatened on Sunday to reduce cooperation with the IAEA.

“Should the West continue to pressure us, the legislature can reconsider the level of Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA,” Larijani told parliament in a speech carried live on state radio.

Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi, who is also Iran’s nuclear chief, said Sunday’s decision was “a firm message” in response to the IAEA. He told state TV that the agency’s censure was a challenge aimed at “measuring the resistance of the Iranian nation.”

Any new enrichment plants would take years to build and stock with centrifuges. But the ambitious plans were a bold show by Iran that it is willing to risk further sanctions and won’t back down amid a deadlock in negotiation attempts.

Iran currently has one operating enrichment facility, at the central town of Natanz, which has churned out around 3,300 pounds of low-enriched uranium over the past years — enough to build a nuclear weapon if Iran enriches it to a higher level. Iran says it has no intention of doing so, insisting its nuclear program aims only to generate electricity.

The revelation of a second, previously unannounced facility, under construction for years at Fordo near the holy of Qom, raised accusations from the United States and its allies that Iran was trying expand enrichment in secret out of inspectors’ sight. Iran denied the claim.

On Sunday, a Cabinet meeting headed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ordered the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran to begin building five uranium enrichment plants at sites that have already been studied and propose five other locations for future construction within two months, the state news agency IRNA reported. All would be at the same scale as Natanz.

The new sites are to be built inside mountains to protect them from possible attacks, said Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi, who is also Iran’s nuclear chief. They will also use a new generation of more efficient and more productive centrifuges that Iran has been working to construct, he and Ahmadinejad said.

In Vienna, spokeswoman Gillian Tudor said the U.N.’s International Atomic Energy Agency would have no comment on Tehran’s announcement.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for “a concentration of sanctions and pressure on the Iranian regime, which is vulnerable economically” to rein in its nuclear ambitions. Israel has not ruled out military strikes against Iranian nuclear sites if its program is not stopped.

The IAEA censure against Iran on Friday was seen as a show of international unity behind demands that Tehran rein in its nuclear program — though there does not yet appear to be consensus on imposing sanctions.

The IAEA resolution criticized Iran for secretly building the Fordo site and defying the U.N. Security Council call for a suspension of enrichment.

It noted that IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei cannot confirm that Tehran’s nuclear program is exclusively geared toward peaceful uses, and expressed “serious concern” that Iran’s stonewalling of an agency probe means “the possibility of military dimensions to Iran’s nuclear program” cannot be excluded.

The U.N. seeks to stop Iran’s enrichment, because the process can be used to produce either fuel for a reactor or a warhead. In the process, uranium gas is spun in centrifuges to be purified — to a low degree for fuel, to a higher level for a bomb. Iran denies U.S. claims that it secretly aims to produce a nuclear weapon.

The United States and the top powers at the U.N. have been focused on winning Iran’s acceptance of a deal under which it would ship abroad most of its low-enriched uranium stocks to be processed into fuel rods for a research reactor in Tehran. The move would leave Iran — at least temporarily — without enough uranium to produce a bomb.

But Iran has balked, presenting a counter-proposal for a simultaneous swap. The West has demanded it accept the proposal as is.

In the wake of the IAEA rebuke, Iran has sought to signal that it can lash back if pushed. On Saturday, one hard-line lawmaker warned that parliament might withdraw the country from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and stop all U.N. inspections — a move that would sharply escalate the standoff with the West and cut off the U.N.’s only eyes on Iran’s nuclear program.

But parliament took a lesser step on Sunday: 226 of the 290 lawmakers signed a letter urging the government to prepare a plan to reduce Tehran’s cooperation with the IAEA in response to its resolution.

Iran touted the expansion of enrichment as necessary for its plans to generate 20,000 megawatts of electricity through multiple nuclear power plants in the next 20 years.

Ahmadinejad said 500,000 centrifuges will be needed in the new plants to produce between 250 to 300 tons of fuel annually, IRNA reported. About 8,600 centrifuges have been set up in Natanz, but only about 4,000 are actively enriching uranium, according to the IAEA. The facility will eventually house 54,000 centrifuges. The Fordo site is smaller, built for nearly 3,000 centrifuges.

The world will never know!

From Fox News:

SEOUL, South Korea — Showing impatience with Iranian foot-dragging, President Barack Obama said Thursday that the U.S. and its allies are discussing possible new penalties to bring fresh pressure on Iran for defying international attempts to halt its contested nuclear program.

Obama’s warning came after Iran rejected a compromise proposal to ship its low-enriched uranium abroad so that it could not be further enriched to make weapons. Talk of fresh sanctions also showed that Obama is preparing for the next phase should Iran fail to meet his year-end deadline for progress in negotiations.

“They have been unable to get to `yes’, and so as a consequence, we have begun discussions with our international partners about the importance of having consequences,” Obama said at a news conference with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak.

“Our expectation is, is that over the next several weeks we will be developing a package of potential steps that we could take that will indicate our seriousness to Iran.”

The tough talk came as Obama wrapped an eight-day, four-nation tour of Asia in which global issues — nuclear disarmament, climate change, economic recovery — dominated and goodwill abounded. There also were few new agreements on pending issues.

South Korea, Obama’s final stop, was a case in point.

Obama and Lee showed unity on disarming nuclear-armed North Korea and differences over concluding a free-trade agreement stalled by Congress. Obama announced that Stephen Bosworth, his special envoy to North Korea, would make his first trip to Pyongyang on Dec. 8 to test the waters for resuming nuclear disarmament talks.

Lee said Obama endorsed his “grand bargain” for North Korea — a package of economic assistance and investment in exchange for full nuclear disarmament in a single step rather than the piecemeal approaches that have twice failed over the past two decades. “I think President Lee is exactly right and my administration is taking the same approach,” Obama said.

The White House said the trip was largely about showing U.S. re-engagement with a region whose fast-growing economies are reordering global politics but that often felt neglected during the Bush administration and its focus on fighting terrorism. To that end, Obama spoke often of reinvigorating alliances with Japan, his first stop, South Korea and in Southeast Asia, and welcoming a prosperous, confident China as a partner.

“We didn’t come halfway across the world for ticker-tape parades,” senior Obama adviser David Axelrod told reporters Thursday. “We came here to lay a foundation for progress. We’ve done that.”

Obama vested political capital in salvaging next month’s climate change conference in Copenhagen. He urged leaders of Asia-Pacific nations gathered in Singapore to rally around a political agreement that would contain emissions reductions goals for countries to meet that would fall short of a full treaty on global warming. China, the biggest emitter of greenhouse gases ahead of the U.S., signed on to the idea too.

Obama addressed cheering U.S. troops stationed at Osan Air Base outside Seoul on Thursday before the return flight to Washington, and gave this assessment of the trip: a renewed U.S.-Japan alliance, commitments to work on freer trade with Asia-Pacific nations to aid the global economic recovery and a more positive partnership with China “because cooperation between the United States and China will mean a safer, more prosperous world for all of us.”

Asked how the trip went, Obama said: “We got a lot of work done.” He then boarded the plane headed for home, where he faces continued lobbying to pass a health care bill and more deliberations on how many more troops to send to Afghanistan.

In talking tough about possible sanctions on Iran for its nuclear program, Obama left open the option that diplomacy could still work. “I continue to hold out the prospect that they may decide to walk through this door” and accept the proposal to ship its low-enriched uranium out of the country, Obama said.

A senior administration official later said Obama was purposely vague on more diplomacy so as not to undermine the search for international consensus that remains in an embryonic phase. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the president’s thinking.

Possible sanctions are likely to take months to enact, if the difficulties in crafting this year’s U.N. sanctions on North Korea are any indication. China, always reluctant to support sanctions, offered no public assurances that it would agree to punish Iran. As for Russia, whose support also would be vital, White House official Mike McFaul said days ago that the U.S. is “exactly on the same page with the Russians” in exploring diplomacy and consequences.

South Korea gave Obama one of the warmest welcomes during the trip. Crowds lined the motorcade route; some shouted “Obama.” After the news conference, Obama and Lee hugged, an unusual gesture in a region noted for its formality.

The only off-note was on the pending free trade agreement, stuck in part because U.S. lawmakers worry it could hurt the struggling American auto industry. Obama said he was committed to completing a deal and that teams from both countries were trying to resolve sticking points.

Lee said the pact was not only economic but strategic — suggesting an agreement would further cement the U.S.-South Korean alliance. He urged political will to complete it.

Pay attention to this one, folks. Here is an insane Islamofascist dictator with nuke capabilities who despises Israel telling Obama he has to choose between Iran or Israel.

Seeing how he is a classifiable nut job, his words can either mean he is throwing a deluded temper tantrum, rattling his Islamic saber and gnashing his teeth like a rabid dog, or he is serious. With people like him it is difficult to tell. I am opting for the more serious approach, but I’m just an Israel-loving American Christian who believes Israel is the center of history, so what do I know? I’m biased, to be sure.

Given the state of relations we have with Israel now, (Thanks Hillary and Barack Hussein Obama- mmm, mmm, mmm), I wonder if our elected President will even address or acknowledge this lunatic’s tirade. I mean, Obama can’t even deal with Afghanistan decisively, so why should he care about anything related to Israel? That would just be one more thing on his plate that has been put there because his World Apology Tour 2009 was such a raving success.

This psychopath who controls Iran is not to be taken lightly. He would have no problem pushing any buttons, believe me. Yet another example of Islamofascism in all its glory. Insha’Allah, indeed.

Speaking in Istanbul at the 25th Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, the Iranian president said that it was up to US President Barack Obama to realize his motto of “change”.

“The support of both Israel and Iran can’t go hand in hand,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA. “No change is made unless great choices are made.

“We would welcome the changes, and wait for big and correct decisions to be made… We will clasp any hand that is extended sincerely toward us, but changes should be made in practice.”

Addressing the same conference a day earlier, Ahmadinejad said that capitalist excesses caused the global economic meltdown and were un-Islamic, as leaders at a Muslim forum touted their religion’s banking system a way to revive battered economies.

He also slammed investments that pay interest, deemed usury by Muslims, and said they had contributed to financial and social problems such as homelessness.

“Usury, which is entrenched in the capitalist system, is perhaps the main reason why the system has gone bankrupt,” Ahmadinejad said. “It is a way of accumulating capital without working. Usury, according to the Koran, is fighting with Allah.”

Ahmadinejad did not mention Iran’s struggling economy, nor did he refer to its dispute with the West over its nuclear activities.

The Islamic forum held its meeting in a plush hotel on the banks of the Bosphorus Strait that divides Istanbul between the Asian and European continents. Syrian President Bashar Assad and President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan were also in attendance.

Meanwhile, Iran’s defense minister on Wednesday urged Russia to ignore Israeli pressure against selling the S-300 missile defense system to the Islamic Republic.

“We have a contract with Russia to buy S-300 missiles. I don’t think it is right for Russia to be seen in the world as a country which does not fulfill its contractual obligations,” AFP quoted Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi as telling the IRNA news agency.

“Russia has to fulfill the contract and not be influenced by Zionist pressure,” he added.

Russia signed a contract two years ago to sell the S-300 surface-to-air missiles to Iran but has not made any deliveries or given any explanation for the delay. The United States and Israel strongly oppose the deal because it would significantly boost Iran’s air defense capabilities at a time of heightened tension over the country’s nuclear program.

On Sunday, a senior Iranian lawmaker warned Russia that its delay in delivering the anti-aircraft missile defense system to Teheran could harm relations between the two countries, state television reported.

“If they do not fulfill their promise, this will be a negative point in relations between the two countries,” said Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the head of parliament’s national security and foreign policy committee, according to state TV.

The news report quoted Boroujerdi as saying that more delays “will be harmful to Russia since we have many areas of cooperation with them.”

State TV says Iran wants to buy nuclear fuel it needs for a research reactor rather than accept a U.N.-drafted plan to ship much of its uranium to Russia for further enrichment.

“Iran is interested in buying fuel for the Tehran research reactor within the framework of a clear proposal … we are waiting for the other party’s constructive and trust-building response,” Iranian TV quoted a member of Iran’s negotiating team as saying, Reuters reports.

Iran’s response will come as a disappointment to the U.S., Russia and France, which all endorsed the U.N. plan Friday that called for Iran to ship its uranium stockpile to Russia rather than continue what is believed to be an weapons-grade enrichment program. The three countries formulated the draft plan in three days of talks with Iran in Vienna that ended Wednesday.

White House officials said Friday Iran had not yet delivered a formal response to the plan drafted by the International Atomic Energy Authority (IAEA) and that President Obama would await final word from the U.N.’s nuclear watchdog.

“The president, just like everyone else, is waiting to hear from [IAEA Director General Mohamed] ElBaradei on what the final word is,” White House deputy spokesman Bill Burton told Reuters. “The word is that ElBaradei has not received official word yet, so we’re waiting until that happens.”

Earlier, an official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Washington did not regard the Iranian state television report as Tehran’s official response to the plan, seen as one way to buy time for broader talks on Iran’s nuclear program.

Friday’s report quotes an unnamed source close to Iran’s negotiating team as saying Tehran is waiting for a response to its proposal to buy nuclear fuel for the reactor, which is used to make radioactive medical isotopes.

An unnamed member of Iran’s negotiating team urged world powers Friday to “refrain from past mistakes in violating agreements and make efforts to win the trust of the Iranian nation,” according to state TV.

President Obama has stepped up diplomatic engagement with Iran since he took office in January and has faulted the Bush administration for refusing to talk to U.S. adversaries. But he has also threatened harsher sanctions if Iran does not cooperate to ease fears about the nature of its nuclear program.

Western diplomats, Reuters reports, said the IAEA plan, which has not been made public, would require Tehran to send 1.2 tons of its known 1.5-ton stockpile of low-enriched uranium by the end of 2009 to Russia and France, where it would be further enriched to make it difficult to be used for warheads. It would later be returned to Tehran for usage in a reactor that makes radioactive medical isotopes.

Based on the present Iranian stockpile, the U.S. estimates Tehran could produce a nuclear weapon as early as next year and as last as 2015, an assessment that broadly matches those from Israel and other nations.

International concerns about Iran’s nuclear program surged in September when it was revealed the country was constructing a previously undisclosed uranium enrichment facility near the holy city of Qom.

Iran later agreed to allow U.N. inspectors to visit the facility, and the official Islamic Republic News Agency said Friday that IAEA representatives would arrive Saturday to start the inspection.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
