The Federalist Papers were a series of eighty-five essays urging the citizens of New York to ratify the new United States Constitution. Written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay, the essays originally appeared anonymously in New York newspapers in 1787 and 1788 under the pen name “Publius.” A bound edition of the essays was first published in 1788, but it was not until the 1818 edition published by the printer Jacob Gideon that the authors of each essay were identified by name. The Federalist Papers are considered one of the most important sources for interpreting and understanding the original intent of the Constitution. Read more about The Federalist Papers.
Amicus literally translates as friend. Just as Publius (friend of the people) was our Founding Fathers’ way of speaking in one collective, anonymous voice, our avenue will be Amicus.
Amicus will serve as our outlet for anonymous reporting and whistleblowing.
Why do you have Amicus?
We created Amicus as a way for citizens to report their experiences without fear of reprisals. Many of our citizens work in organizations where they have first-hand knowledge of information that the public needs to be aware of. But some of these agencies have unspoken policies that leave their employees with a fear that if they speak out, they will face repercussions. We think that free speech should be encouraged. We have been told by many individuals who wished to post OpEd letters on major newspapers that they could not do so without revealing their identities. This is a policy that Political Integrity Now does not agree with.
How do I submit a report to be published under Amicus?
We will take submissions via email at amicus@politicalintegritynow.com. Be advised that using this submission method will share your email address with us, but that Political Integrity Now is providing this anonymity for your use and will NEVER share your information with anyone. If you would like even more assurance that your identity is safe, we recommend setting up an encrypted email account, with which to submit the report. Hushmail is a service that provides FREE encrypted email addresses.
Will you guarantee that you will publish my report?
No, we cannot guarantee your story will be published. We will not publish information that is known to be false, is abusive, etc. We ask that you provide as much detail in your email as possible to enable us to determine the validity and credibility of your claim.
