Sarah Palin, former Governor of the State of Alaska. Here is a woman that people either detest or love, and a woman that has brought a fresh twist on the perception of feminism in America today. It would be difficult to recall the last time any one person has impacted the American Political Machine quite like Sarah Palin has done, and continues to do so even today.

At one time, she was the Vice Presidential candidate in John McCain’s bid for the Presidency. The mainstream American media drooled over Sarah Palin, stalking her family and attacking her with all the subtlety of crack addicts on payday. The gloves came off, apparently, as the media did their utmost best to fluster, confuse, demonize, and vilify a woman they barely knew, simply because she was a woman who was pro-Life, Christian, Republican, and genuinely nice. The liberal comedy circuit also had a ratings explosion while portraying Sarah as some sort of demented beauty-pageant contestant who held public office based on her looks. Even 6 months after November 2008, the mainstream media felt it necessary to continue to hound this woman who returned to Alaska to resume the life she had to leave for the sake of a failed RINO. Eventually, after too many lawsuits filed against her by her detractors and the jealous, vitriolic Democrats of Alaskan politics, she resigned her position as Governor of Alaska, and disappeared off the radar for a bit.

That was then. This is now.

There has been much talk of Sarah Palin recently, with the runaway success of her bestseller book, “Going Rogue“, her appearance on Oprah a day before said book was officially released, (a huge ratings booster for Oprah), and more recently her going to FOX News as a contributor. On the political front, she has also decided to support John McCain’s bid for re-election as Senator for Arizona, a move which has confused and upset many of her faithful. And then there’s the TEA Party connection.

The TEA Party Movement, a grassroots movement, to be sure, has attracted a significant amount of public attention with its aggressive “taxed enough already” stance. During the Summer break of Congress, the TEA Party made a name for itself as its “members” attended not so few Town Hall Meetings by Congressional members in their own States, and asked pointed questions that caused even the slickest of public speakers to stumble and stutter. (Thank God for YouTube.) They represented a side of America that had long laid dormant, but was awake again and none too pleased. Long without a formal leader, enter Sarah Palin.

Many of the TEA Partiers look to Sarah Palin as the best representation of what a “politician” should be. Sarah Palin is not, by any stretch, the leader of the TEA Party. There is simply a connection between Sarah and the TEA Party that bears acknowledgment.

Sarah Palin, being easily the most non-political political person around fits right in with the TEA Party movement, much to the chagrin of the GOP, it might be noted. The GOP needs Sarah to fall into line and stay on script. Sarah Palin is their discovery, and the GOP will not readily share her with anyone. Didn’t you see the memo?

Apparently Sarah Palin didn’t, because she will be speaking at this weekend’s TEA Party Convention in Nashville. Good for her, and very good for them. Given the fact that many Independent Americans are so disillusioned with the “business as usual” mentality of the current political rulers of our Nation, Palin brings a sense of hope and change- Conservative style- that will be felt all the way to the halls of Congress and the White House.

Is Sarah Palin leaving the GOP for greener and friendlier pastures? Hmmm…is it possible? According to her, she is not. So be it.

Notwithstanding, her appearance at this young, upstart, and “teabagging racist right-wing freakshow” movement known as the TEA Party is something to watch. I will offer no speculation, because only Sarah Palin knows what Sarah Palin will do in the future.

But a guy can dream, can’t he?

Sarah can bridge the gap between the tea party folks and the GOP. She is far from the typical GOP politician!

  2. “The Republican Party would be very smart to absorb as much of the Tea Party movement as possible.”

Sarah Palin, TEA Party Convention after-speech question and answer session.

So much for a real change. The GOP is like the Borg. The TEA Party “movement” has now become a GOP platform issue.

Sarah is an interesting person. I like her being candid and most of her political views, however I am not sure I could vote for someone who quit her position as governor in the middle of a term. I question some of her grasp on some issues especially when it comes to economics.

  4. well, sarah palin has a very strong character and she is a great leader too~’”
