Dispite the obvious loss of revenue to income tax preparers and CPA's, simplification of the system would help eliminate the billions of dollars sent overseas to avoid taxation, stop the artificial manipulation of value in various types of industries (farming) due to tax shelter investing and stabilize the overall investment community by making market swings much less extreme. Our financial future, unfunded social programs and the economic future of our kids and grandkids depend on these changes happening as soon as possible. If America can regain control of its fiscal policy, a flat tax should be first on the agenda.
