Obama 2008

So now some Americans are just "Teabag People" Mr. President?

From the New York Times:

In an odd coincidence, the House debate on Saturday to overhaul health care took place on the third anniversary of the 2006 election that gave Democrats majority control after 12 years of Republican dominance. It fell to President Obama and to Congressional leaders to persuade those Democrats still sweating the final vote that it would not prove the party’s undoing in next November’s midterm elections.

Both Mr. Obama and the House leaders showcased Democrats’ newest colleague, Representative Bill Owens, who last Tuesday won a special election in an upstate New York district that Republicans had held since 1872. In the campaign, Mr. Owens gave unabashed support to the pending House health care bill, despite the opposition of national conservative groups, including the new Tea Party Patriots, who backed Mr. Owens’ conservative rival.

Mr. Obama, during his private pep talk to Democrats, recognized Mr. Owens election and then posed a question to the other lawmakers. According to Representative Earl Blumenauer of Oregon, who supports the health care bill, the president asked, “Does anybody think that the teabag, anti-government people are going to support them if they bring down health care? All it will do is confuse and dispirit” Democratic voters “and it will encourage the extremists.”

Another freshman Democrat from New Mexico, Representative Martin Heinrich, said the president’s comments overall were reassuring. “If you want to see a recipe for failure,” Mr. Heinrich said, “don’t do the things you talked about in your campaigns and turn your back on your base. All the independent voters in the world don’t matter if the Democrats don’t turn out.”

“This is an opportunity to do something as big as Social Security,” he added. “And me, personally, I don’t want to be on the wrong side of history.”

And for me, this is what it seems to always boil down to: These Democrats and their relentless pursuit to be “the first” to “fundamentally change” America as per marching orders from their Dear Leader.

Idiots, the whole freaking lot of ‘em.

    It’s called hubris.

And I’m sick and tired of my president, his Speaker of the House, various White House czars, and Democrat congressional leaders calling me names. The president and others have slurred me by referring to me with a nasty sexually implicit gay term. I have never before been called a Nazi, nor a racist, nor a terrorist. It was shocking at first – it is no longer.

They have never met me, nor my family, nor realize how much I love this country, nor how hard I work to provide for my family and give back to my community. Yet, they call me and other other Americans names like foul-mouthed bullies on a school yard. While they systematically dismantle our Constitution for their own greed and power and immortality. And for those reasons, with every fiber and breath in my body, I will devote time EVERY DAY, without fail between now and November 2010 to do what I can to expose them, resist their socialist agenda, and assist in the ousting of these elitist thugs. I have already donated more money to candidates out of state this year than I have donated to the GOP during my lifetime.

This administration is hell-bent to ruin America for their own glory. And for that, I will not rest. Nor will many, many other conservative patriots.

    Game on, Barack.
