Criteria such as - existing transportation infra-structure, availability of hotel rooms, airport capacity, location of venues, commitment of corporate sponsors, and local crime rate are scored based on the cities answers to the questionnaires and upon the IOC's inspection to validate the answers. It is only in the final stage - that ambiguous, "do I really like this country" subjective criteria play heavily in the selection process.
