Apology owed to Joe Wilson…he was right! Who will come to his defense now?

So, only now do you see…Joe Wilson was right!  Reported from The Hill:

Senate Finance Committee Democrats rejected a proposed a requirement that immigrants prove their identity with photo identification when signing up for federal healthcare programs.

Finance Committee ranking member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said that current law and the healthcare bill under consideration are too lax and leave the door open to illegal immigrants defrauding the government using false or stolen identities to obtain benefits.

Grassley’s amendment was beaten back 10-13 on a party-line vote.

The bill, authored by committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.), would require applicants to verify their names, places of birth and Social Security numbers. In addition, legal immigrants would have to wait five years, as under current law, after obtaining citizenship or legal residency to access federal healthcare benefits such as Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program or receive tax credits or purchase insurance through the exchange created by the legislation.

But the would not require them to show a photo ID, such as a drivers license. Without that requirement, the bill “remains dearly lacking when it comes to identification,” Grassley said. “Frankly, I’m very perplexed as to why anyone would oppose this amendment,” he said.

But Democratic Sen. Jeff Bingaman, who represents the border state of New Mexico, said that the type of fraud Grassley said he wants to prevent is highly uncommon. “The way I see the amendment, it’s a solution without a problem,” Bingaman said.

When does Joe get his apology?

    I don’t get it.
I thought Joe Wilson apologized to the President for what Joe Wilson said was an inappropriate outburst, rudely interrupting the President during the President’s address to congress. Aside from the obvious rudeness, was the fact that he violated the rules of the chamber, and the congress, for which he was formally censured.
So – what are you saying? He was right to yell out “you lie” during the President’s address?
Are you suggesting that his point was valid? (the president was “lying” when he said that illegal aliens would not be eligible for the federal benefits of the proposed health care reforms?) Certainly this bill states that illegal aliens are not eligible for benefits. Proof of identity by verification their names, places of birth and Social Security numbers constitutes a LIE if a photo ID is not also included? If the Finance Committee added a photo ID requirement, and Grassley asked for DNA verification of identity, only to be voted down, would you assert Wilson was right – Obama lied because the Finance Committee did not support DNA verification if identity?
I am not sure what you mean when you say “…he was right!”

OMG…this person is everywhere! PJ…your obsessed!!!!

Do yourself a favor and quit indulging in this goof ball. He reminds me a a 3rd grader. Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? The questions keep coming, even though the answer is just comon sense. You don’t get it because comon sense eludes you!

BTW, noticed how Joe Wilsons campaign funds have continued to soar?

Help me out then – what was he right about?

MT: regarding indulging my posting. The editors here have long since stopped indulging me. Take this recent article for example http://politicalintegritynow.com/2009/09/measure-giving-americans-72-hours-to-review-health-care-reform-blocked-by-democrats-what-are-they-hiding/
Weeks ago, I would have taken Chet to task for posting this clearly misleading (even dishonest) headline. Now I know better.
In my opinion, the conservative movement is NOT aided by hyperbolic vitriol, misleading headlines, calling up down, etc. If Chet wanted to make the case that the “legislative language” was better than the “plain language” fine, make the argument. Instead he dishonestly posts that the Dems blocked posting a 72 hour review and asks what they are hiding – without even mentioning that DEMS actually PAST a measure to post a 72 hour review, which the Republicans opposed. (indeed, what are THEY trying to hide). Republicans have a lot to offer WITHOUT the misleading spin, and the “up” is “down” messaging.

Hey MT…if you listen to Rush, you must have heard the caller yesterday talking about how she immediately donated money to Joe as soon as he called Obama a liar. Apparently, so did a lot of Americans. The more liberals attacked him, the more money he raised.

The same goes for Sarah Palin, the left went nuts over her and now her book, that hasn’t even been printed yet, is the number one best seller or Amazon.com and Barnes & Nobel.

The crazy lunatics of the left are their own worst enemies. They just don’t know when to shut up! lol
