Hmm:
I think the point here is that there is a difference between simple name calling as an abusive ad hominim attack, and actually making the case that the President is a Socialist.
Comments like “You can’t believe Obama when he says he doesn’t want to take over the Auto industry. He is a Socialist”, are just straight forward propaganda. Actually attempting to make the case that President Obama is a socialist, is a whole different matter. Something like “President Obama’s support of Public Schools, a Public Police force, Public Fire Departments, Public Roads, and Public Transportation, proves he is just as much a Socialist as most Americans alive today” does not engage in leveling the label “Socialist” as an insult, but actually makes the case that he is a Socialist.
I am not sure if Mr. Goode’s point is that RACIST “name calling” and POLITICALLY INSPIRED name calling “satisfies the same gut sense” to attack and belittle your target, but that is what I took away from what he said.
