Senators Baucus and Conrad concede that Wilson was right, Obama was wrong!

After demonizing Wilson for his outburst during the President’s speech, lawmakers on the left revisited the bill and came to the conclusion that Republican Rep. Joe Wilson was correct in saying that the proposed health care bill made illegal immigrants eligible for coverage.  After revisiting the bill on Thursday, Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mt) said that a proof of citizenship requirement would be put in the bill.  Although the actual language has not been seen, this move is steadfast proof that the President, once again, was wrong.

This provision will draw heavy criticism from the left, as the majority of the democrat lawmakers have been pushing for the coverage of illegal immigrants.  It also emphasis the message that the public, and members of the House and Senate, are not buying into President Obama’s rhetoric and false claims.

This may be a big win for Wilson (and America for that matter), but there is no doubt that the media and the left will go after him full force!

BS…Baucus’ bill hasn’t even been written yet so of course there isn’t a provision in it yet. Section 246 of the House version says no illegals will bev eligible and so, technically, Congressman Wilson is wrong. Nice attempt at spin though

Hmm – lets go to the tape:
This post is dishonest in the way it “restates” what the key players “said”. Here is my take:
in his speech President Obama said:
“There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false. The reforms — the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.”
and Mr. Wilson said: “You Lie!”.
Clearly, President Obama was referring to “the reforms [he is] proposing”. You can tell this is true from the fact that he says “the reforms I’m proposing”.
President Obama can point to a provision in the House bill that has actually passed its committee that unequivocally states that coverage will NOT extend to immigrants who are here illegally. Wilson can point to nothing that contradicts the President’s assertion that he (the President) proposes that coverage shall not apply to illegal immigrants. AMAZINGLY! the Democratic leadership in the Senate Finance Committee is still able to rise above Wilson’s public tantrum, and include language in their as yet unfinished bill that would not only exclude illegal immigrants from coverage – but will also add citizenship status checks to the bill to ENSURE that immigrants that are here illegally cannot slip through the cracks.

When you try to recast what Mr. Wilson said, by drawing statements from before or after the speech and then just asserting that Senator Baucus’ behavior proves “the President, once again, was wrong” is – well – silly. When you want to determine who is right or wrong, it is better to just consider what each of them actually said.

The truth: Obama lied. Wilson uttered the only rational response. Decorum is a joke.

    Which part is the lie?
    President Obama said:
“There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false. The reforms — the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.”

and Mr. Wilson said: “You Lie!”.
