Well PJ, it's simple. If he is attempting to build support, then he ought to go to those who don't already support his views. This is not like an election where we seek out those who we need to assure will turn out at the polls. America is not voting on health care. In this case he does not need to convince his followers to show up. He actually does need to convince the dissenters that he has their best interest at heart. You don't do that by repeating the same talking points over and over, and disallowing actual questions. Anyone remember the "fact that you're using the dictionary shows that you're reaching a little bit" response? How about just answering the question and convincing us all that we're wrong and he is right? Nope, that won't do, not in Obamaland where every day's a fairy tale and every Czar is a knight in shining armor.

1. If it is indeed nearly impossible to make it onto FIVE Sunday shows on a single day, why is the author suggesting that the President should have gone for SIX shows (including Fox News in the loop)?

2. How is is possible this author equates an unprecedented White House media blitz (so heavy that many are warning that the President risks being over-exposed) with "Hiding" - and contrasts that with the McCain/Palin Media strategy of not allowing any type of interview for Ms. Palin (which got so bad that her Republican supporters were carrying signs to rallies "Unleash Sarah"), calling that "neither run away nor been shielded". Total upside down and backwards world here.

Yes, President Obama did not choose Fox News first. I suspect this is more about political expedience than fear of "tough questions". The president is attempting to build support for health care reform. It makes sense that he would attempt to reach out to a demographic that is MOST receptive to his message, and most likely to be positively influenced by his appearance. No doubt if he ever decides to put up a wall between Mexico and the United States, or deport all illegal aliens presently in the US - Fox News will be his first stop.
