Beck is looking for 56 true patriots to Re-Found America

Beck is looking for 56 true patriots to Re-Found America

Today while watching Glenn Beck’s special coverage of the 9/12 Project, I listened to Glenn discuss a new mission that I consider “Brilliant!”  I do not know the official name that he will give it yet, as he will discuss it in full detail starting this Monday.  But Glenn spoke of an idea that resonated while he was reading Thomas Jefferson.  He reminded us that there are 56 names attached to the original Declaration of Independence.  Just 56 brilliantly minded people who shaped this great nation and laid the foundation that has allowed us to prosper like no other, in just over 200 years.  Just 56 patriots built the foundation that made us great, yet so many in Washington have seemingly forgotten. 56!

Today, Glenn asked for 56 patriotic Americans who currently serve in Washington (party affiliation irrelevant) to raise up and acknowledge that there is a “sickness, disease and cancer” within the political system.  He challenged 56 individuals to step out, admit their own mistakes, and say “I am part of the problem; I made several mistakes and compromised my values and became part of the corrupt political machine…but no more!”  He has asked for 56 brave individuals to come forward and point the finger at themselves, ask for the forgiveness of the American people, and vow to “re-found” America, based on the Constitution “as it was written”, and pledge to expose the corrupt politicians that are in power today.

He warns, there will be a price.  If a law was broken, then penalties will be paid.  The remaining politicians who do not have the courage to stand up and admit to their own wrong doing, compromises and self serving interest, will unleash a fury of attacks, threats and try to discredit them in every way imaginable.  However, these 56 courageous individuals will be remembered among the most honorable and brave patriots to have every served in Washington.  Their names will go down with the likes of Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Paine and others.  But the job does not rest with them alone!

We have a part, and without us it will not work.  We have to continue to let our voices be heard, and we must get louder.  We need to assure those individuals who want to stand up and be accountable, who want to truly make a difference and who are willing to admit that they have become a part of the problem, that they are not alone.  We need to let them know that regardless of what they did, no matter how bad they compromised America, that if they are willing to ADMIT their actions, without excuse or blame, and pledge to expose the corruption that WE KNOW exist Washington today, that we will have their back and will support them with the full power of the citizens of the United States of America.  As they stare down the face of adversity, we will beat it back with one, united voice.  We can not let them down.

We need to send these 56 individuals a message, that regardless of the power of the corrupt political machine, the power of the American people remains supreme.  It does not matter who you are, where you serve, what district you live in, what party you represent.  As a conservative and a Christian, I believe in forgiveness, if you ask for it.  I do not care if you are a republican, democrat or independent as I will support you.  We need courageous individuals from all sides of the isle.  Honor, integrity and patriotism is more important than the individual or party.

If you are a member of this sacred list of 56, you will be supported by every single American that believes in freedom, liberty and the U.S. Constitution.   We the People will pardon you.

I think you hit it on the nose “The Forgotten 56″ – I’m sure some good photoshop person could make up some cool pictures. Let me see if the doamin has been purchased :)

I like your way of thinking Alice. We are in it for the long hall, sound like you are too. Natalie is really good with photoshop, so I am sure she could come up with something unique. To bad she is down with the flu today (yup, sine flu), but I am sure she will take it on soon. Let us know about the domain…I really like “The Forgotten 56″!

Good job and wish it would work. I don’t think there are 56 honest people in the government.

I nominate Michelle Bachmann (R) Minnesota. One of the most staunch conservatives in the House today!

  11. Natalie Nichols says:

We love Michele Bachmann here too. She’s not afraid to tell it like it is and stands up for what she believes in.

    Funny!
And, ironically, I think a lot of people would buy it! The genius of the constitutional republic which the treasonous ultra-liberal revolutionaries that we call our “founding fathers” set up, is that, as long as the public remains well informed our elected representatives act in their own self interest (maintaining power) when they act in the interest of their constituents, US! Self reporting of misdeeds does nothing to increase transparency in Government. The notion that we – the public – would need these “courageous individuals” to come forward, just reinforces the idea that we should or could not know what is going on, unless they decide to tell us. Asking the “courageous 56″ to come forward would allow some small group of congress members to champion the “government is broken” cause, and still run as incumbents – and their supporters would buy this ruse. If you want responsive government, fight for government transparency, a strong and vital news media, and a public that is engaged.

I’m not on board with this, at all. It sounds noble and honorable, but it serves as a way to let criminals stay in power. They ALL need to go. The ones you think are “good” will have another chance, but for now, they ALL need to go.

  14. Actually, Ed, you may be more “on board” than you thought at first. If you listen closely to Beck, he says that those who broke the law will pay a price and that those who have caused harm or brought shame to their families will pay a price for that as well, BUT that he believes the American people would support them in their efforts to right their wrongs for the betterment of our Country. Take for example, if someone came forth and said, “I’m a tax cheat, but I’ve seen this and heard this and think you should know it,” then justice, according to the law, would be served, but Glenn’s suspicion is that the rest of us will rally around that person and give them support. It’s almost the same principle as his “you are not alone, we surround them” theory. I can see why you would have come to that conclusion, but I don’t think that is what his intent was. I think he specifically used the lines, “I’m here to tell you, you will pay the price, there will be consequences,” and THEN went on to say, “but the American people will support you.” I also think that our support doesn’t have to necessarily mean that we will vote for, give donations to, rally to keep out of the justice system, etc. But instead, will thank and back up, and make sure that justice is served, but no more, that there are no reparations, other than what each person has legally coming to him.
